Is Astrive a good company for student loans? I've doing research and Astrive students loans says that you can take out loans up to $40,000 a year and up to $130000 in your lifetime. It seems a lot more reasonable than other websites. Is it too good to be true? Is there some kind of catch or is it a good way to help me go to college?

Citibank student loans, are they harder to get than astrive? Astrive approves me for student loans all the time using my mom as the co-signer but Citibank recently denied me for a $5000 loan. I noticed their interest rate and origination fee rate were much lower though than astrive. I'm assuming it's just harder to get approved by them because they offer better rates or whatever. Does anyone have experience with how hard or not it is to get approved by them?
What is the difference between Education One student loans and Astrive student loans? Education One seems to be backed by Chase Student Loans. Astrive student loans seems to be backed by First Marblehead. So why do they both have the same loan application and terms. Which one should I go with?
Bank of America and Astrive student loans related because of TERI? Okay, so I borrowed the maximum amount for the current fiscal year through astrive and can't borrow anymore until July 1st through them. They are managed by TERI or whatever. But I need money right now for living expenses etc. So I went and tried to get a loan with Bank Of America with their education maximizer student loan but I noticed it's through TERI too. And It got denied. If Astrive and Bank Of America both manage their loan programs with TERI did my BOA loan probably get denied because TERI is telling them I can't borrow anymore until the Next fiscal year (july 1st)? PS: please don't lecture me on the future burden of taking out private student loans. Im aware, but I financially don't have many options and will have to deal with the payments when they come in the future. Thanks. I'm just inqurining to see if there's anyone out there that thinks maybe my recent loan app. got denied because TERI is the central destination or something for all apps. to get approved and if there's a limit with TERI then astrive or BOA can't approve the app. until the next fiscal year. Confused about astrive student loan??? Okay, I sent my signed credit agreement and my co-signer's proof of income in to Astrive the other day. The loan is for $17,000 for the quarter I'm about finish up and the one I'm starting next month. I'm using the money to pay off some bills, acquire a new car and support myself while finishing up the degree. The loan was originally for $6,000. But they told me if I wanted to change the amount to just enter a new amount and initialize th change. So I changed it to 17,000 and initialized it. I'm confused really about the disbursement. Everyone on Yahoo questions says it will be divided up. But Astrive told me I will get the whole loan at once. Can anyone clarify this for me? It's killing me not knowing how to plan out how I manage the funds. Thanks, again. Thx podcast
Private student loans and buying a car? My boyfriend took out an Astrive student loan for $5000 dollars and bought a car with it. I want to do something similar, by paying off the rest of my car (about $4000) and trading it in and taking out another 4-5 thousand to get a new car. I am commuting to school next year, and I'm driving a truck right now. I really need a more economic car or I'm not going to make it. Any suggestions for a company I can go with to get a student loan for this kind of thing, other than Astrive? Well, I'm saving 15 grand by living off campus, so I see taking out the loan to get a car as saving money. Having trouble finding a job means I wouldn't be able to make monthly payments for a car, so this is kind of my only option. My real question is what loan companies send the check to you instead of your school... I've already maxed out my federal loans so private funding is all I can get anyway. Ummm, yeah, I got that. I was hoping to get more than three so I could look around a little more. In case you didn't see how the other two responses weren't exactly helpful. By the way, it's people like you that end up dying alone because they have no friends, because they are condescending jerks. I really don't know what else you suggest I do. Unless you think I should walk the 69 miles to school from my house or if YOU want to give me a job since no one else is. Sometimes people have nowhere else to go and this is all they can do. If I just get a car and try to make payments on it, while paying off my truck, I'll just get in worse debt. If I keep driving my truck, I won't make it to school either because right now it costs about 50 bucks to make it. At least this way I have four years to be able to get a job that can make the payments for the loan.

WHAT THE HELL IS UP WITH THESE DUMB COMMERCIALS ABOUT STUDENT LOANS! they are all the same too!? seriously, each commercial is exactly the same. i watched one about laurel collegiate loans and one about astrive and the ONLY difference between both commercials is one said u dont have to pay a cent until after you graduate and the other said dime. THAT WAS IT. is this some new pyramid scheme sorta like online colleges? every1 knows online colleges are bogus. non transferable credits? if you go into an online college agreeing to something like that then you really are dumb and i guess belong to the online college crowd.

I'm desperate to get financial aid for college this August since my job won't cut it and I don't qualify for Astrive Student Loans. Any help would be appreciated. Can a private student loan be used to purchase a car? I commute everyday to school and am in desparate need of transportation. I've been looking around the internet at different private student loans (astrive, thinkfinancial). They have lists of what you can/can't use the money for.."transportation to and from" school is on the list...but it never comes straight out and says if that includes the purchase of a car (used) or not. Can I apply for an Astrive-type loan? I'm a grad student that already has a combination of Stafford, grants, and private loans that take me up to the cost of attendance. I see that the Astrive loan can be used as long as the Stafford does not cover the cost of attendance. My Finanical Aid & My Stafford Loans only cover so much... so i have had to resort to a privite loan to cover the rest of my fees, my books & my computer costs.... The problem holding me back is my bad credit!!! (which wasnt my fault might i add, yet i'm being punnished for it!!) I have been turned down now by 4 different loan companies: Wells Fargo, Chase, Astrive & Direct Loans....I am at a loss of what to do..... Does anyone have any advice or ideas for me? Where can I get a student loan online? I'm using my parents as cosigners, and they don't really have good credit which is kinda the killer here because I need a loan for 20k to pay for an apartment and other things that I am going to need to buy for my apartment because it comes unfurnished. I was just declined for an Astrive student loan which kinda sucks for me, but I really need some help right now. Student Loans Need Help? Ok so i have a Stafford Loan out already through JPMORGAN CHASE BANK. I am looking to take out a Private Loan now for other expenses. My co-signer doesn't have the greatest of credit and I've had a little trouble getting approved through Astrive and other banks. So my question is, would I be more likely to be approved through JpMorgan Chase if i was to apply for a private loan through them? EDIT: If you don't think that apply for a loan through JpMorgan Chase would make any difference, where would be my best bet to get approved for a private loan? Thanks in advance
Student Loan Broker? I'm currently a Mortgage Broker and there are too many problems in that industry for me to continue. Too much Fraud and other problems. I'm looking to move over to becoming a Student Loan Broker...I recently got a student loan for myself and noticed that I was charged $3,000.00 for a $30,000.00 student loan! I figured that there could be a career here. Anyone know of any wholesale student loan lenders? I did my loan with Astrive and they brokered it to Charter One. Since I only have a California Financial Lender's License I'm not sure if I can broker to that lender. Please let me know if there is a directory just as there is in the mortgage business.
$61,000 dollar finance charges on a $20,00 student loan? My friend is currently in her second quarter in college and she had to get some student loans (like most people of course) So she got a $20,000 dollar student loan from Astrive to help foot the bill. A couple days ago she received a letter saying the total amount she would have to payback would be $80,000 dollars after she graduated. How can their be $61,000 dollars in defered interest on 20,000 dollar loan over three years at a 13% interest rate? How does a 20,000 dollar loan turn into an $80,000 loan? Her entire education is only supposed to cost her about $50,000 grand. And she said her payments would be almost $350 dollars every month.
University of Illinois? im 15 and a sophomore, i plan on going to my local junior college for 2 years, then go to UofI and major in engineering or sumthing to do with architecture for 4 years. Problem is, i messed around freshman year and didnt do so well (got mostly ds and cs). Last semester of this year i was much better ( mostly as and bs and 1 c and 1 d(spanish lol). I play football aswell, but i dont think id get an athletic scholarship to U of I so yea. if i get my grades up is there still a chance i can get into UofI?? ive been looking at the tuiton, room/board, ect. and talked to my parents about it, then i looked at that astrive student loans stuff, im kinda confused about it, if theres anyone that has used it before, please share what u no about it. FAFSA and private student loan? I have been approved for a 10,000 dollar student loan through Astrive for the spring semester of 2007. Is it possible for me to still recieve a grant through FAFSA? Question about a student loan? I'm thinking about applying for a student loan through astrive. I mostly just want a loan to help me pay for stuff like groceries and clothes. However, at astrive website, they said that the loan can be used for stuff like books, room and board, tuition, etc. So I'm just wondering, how do I get the money? Do they just send a check or something? If that's the case, how do they know what I'll be spending the money on? What I want to do is quit my part time job...I only make about $120 a week during the semesters, working 15 hours on weekends. It makes me feel like I have no time off (full time school during week, working full time hours on weekend) and I think my grades take a hit because of this. So, if I can quit the job and get a good loan instead, it will enable me to get better grades, get a better job and pay the money all back. I'm an electrical engineering student too, so job prospects for me are very, very good after graduation.

School loans? I've noticed a large increase in those commercial about private student loans, like Astrive and whatnot. Are these better/worse then loans directly taken with the school/bank? I'm not the paranoid type, but there seems to be a ton suddenly popping up and I wanted to weigh my options.

I have to have the money by January 10th Stafford Loans take too long. I filled a fasfa and got some money in financial aid, the problem was that the stafford loan takes too long to process. What are the top 3 most annoying commercials? In my opinion: 1.) Bob and his Enzyte 2.) Astrive Student Loans ("I need more money for college and mommy & daddy won't give me any more, so I called Astrive!") 3.) Any of those late-night advertisements about chat lines (Lavalife, etc....) in which they portray the girls as being extremely sexy. It's common sense to know that girls who are that sexy don't need to call chat lines to get a date. I am curious to see what commercials make everyone else's list. ;)
Student Loan Help...!? I will be attending a recording workshop next month and some prior financial arrangements fell through... The school is a technical school and I only need about $3,500.00. Compared to other school loans this is change, but I need this loan before January. I know that it has to be a private student loan but I'm really not quite sure how to go about it and the pros and cons of lenders.
