What EFC score is necessary for financial college aid? My EFC (Estimated Family Contribution) is 2971. How much money (if any) does that qualify me to get for college in financial aid? What are Pell Grants exactly? Does my EFC qualify me for Pell Grants? What else might my EFC qualify me for?
What income is poor enough for college financial aid? Hi, next year I'll be applying to Georgetown (my dream school), but i noticed that they dont give out any merit based scholarships except for sports (which dosent apply to me). However, Georgetown does offer financial aid. How poor does one have to be to qualify for financial aid? My dad is a cabinet maker and my mom is a nurse, and together they earn about $100,000 before taxes. I have a brother and a sister that also need to go to college in 2-3 years. We have no college savings, but we do have A LOT of credit card debt. I know I'm not poor, its just that we can in no way afford Georgetown! If accepted, is it likely that I will get financial aid?
Out of state community college financial aid eligibility? Are you still eligible to receive financial aid, if you're planning to attend an out of state community college. Can the government deny aid because it's out of state?
How does a parent divorce affect college financial aid? My parents are getting a divorce. I am going to be a freshman in college next year. I've already gotten my financial aid for this year, so that shouldn't change (right?) but I wasn't sure if this would affect my financial aid for the next years. My parent's income should stay roughly the same, albeit seperate. Okay, additional question: Do I just get to pick which parent I want to report? I haven't lived with my parents for a year now and probably won't live with them again, so I don't technically have one or the other that I live with... My dad makes less money, am I allowed to say that I live with him for that reason?
What agencies do I need to contact to apply for community college financial aid? What agencies do I need to contact to apply for community college financial aid? Including possible help with living expenses.
How long does it take to apply and get approved / enrolled into college ? financial aid ? how long does it take for a parent to process application for child for college ? determine if there is financial aid / borrow money if needed ? what is processing time for this ?
If my husband and I file our tax return separately, do I have a better chance for college financial aid? We are a middle income family, He works full time, I work very part time, and attend college. Even though they say our EFC is 14000 that does not mean we have it! Previous student loans, mortgage, bills etc all add up. I am never eligible for anything beyond an unsubsidized federal loan, and our credit is shaky at best, we are not eligible for a private loan. If we file "married filing separate" will I be able to receive additional financial aid?
Will not claiming my 16 year old child on taxes help when he applies for college financial aid? I'm worried about paying for my son's college and, with him being 16, there isn't much time to save. I've heard that if he hasn't been claimed on his parent's taxes as a dependent for 2 years prior to applying, he may qualify for a Pell grant and other financial aid. But I can't find anything in writing to support that. Should I not claim him this year?
Is anybody aware of an account or investment that does not count against college financial aid, efc calc? A coworker saw a flyer for a seminar for an investment that does not count against college financial aid. Or EFC calculation. He cannot find the flyer. Is anybody aware of this investment? Is this somekind of life insurance? Thank you.
Why does McCain want to do away with college financial aid? After all, most college students rely on some sort of financial aid to deal with the soaring costs of an education. @Rick P - FYI: I'm a military veteran and am far more educated than you will ever be. Oh, and if questioning the wrongs of our government is liberal, then I'm proud to be a Liberal!!!
What do I do for college Financial Aid if I have an International Parent? I am an Alabama resident college student. I'm having trouble filling out my FAFSA online. My mother lives in Germany; she has a US Social Security Number. My father is from the US, but he will not fill-out his income tax information for 2007. I am trying to apply for aid without being labeled as an international student. What can I do to complete my FAFSA without breaking the law?
Question about applying for college financial aid? I am going to be applying for aid to go back to school. I will more than likely qualify for pell grants. My question is- do they give you a little more than just the expense of the classes and books? I am a mom trying to go back to college, and I am concerned about lost wages. Any knowlege of how this works?
Is there a way to anonomously report fraud regarding college financial aid? I am aware of someone who is fraudulently reporting information about her son in order to receive more government assistence for his college education. Is there a way I can report this anonymously. It really frosts me to see someone take advantage of the system like this since the programs were not designed to be used this way. Thank you everyone!
Going to college financial aid dept. to ask about loans... what info do I need to have with me? I need a loan for school; actually mostly to pay the rent for the apartment I will be living in during school. The schooling part is going to cost around $5000, and the apartment may be around $15000 (for two years).... I've been told I need to just walk into the financial aid dept. of my college and ask them about loans... but what information do I need to bring with me? They have my fafsa on file and I don't qualify for financial aid, so if you were going to suggest that... it isn't an option.
College financial aid and programs questions? My cousin’s daughter will be going to college soon and will need to apply for a student loan/grant, etc. My cousin has a bank savings account with about $50,000 which he strictly set aside for his retirement only. He can’t use his retirement money in consideration for the grant/financial aid (read that the financial aid wants the parent/student to pay as much as possible). Is there anyway my cousin can keep his $50K and still apply for the financial aid? Also, my niece’s nationality is part: Hawaiian (Pacific Islander), African-American, Hispanic (Puerto Rican); Asian/Filipina. What are the best scholarships to apply for with that heritage? And last, she was diagnosed with ADHD; will that increase her chances of getting a loan or is there another program that she can apply? Thanks to anyone who can help!
Is college financial aid calculated as a percent of expenses? Is it a set dollar amount so students get the same aid for higher priced as lower priced schools? Is it only for students at higher priced schools?
What type of letter can I write to my college financial aid dept for? A cost of living student loan. I am going to school full time, I was laid off my last job and I have updated cpu, child care and transportation costs to consider? I was told I have to look at a video & then write a letter. Thank you in advance for any suggestions.
Why is McCain planning on getting rid of college financial aid, Social Security and Medicare? I mean, I know that he has pledged to prolong the war for 100 years. So why doesn't get rid of corporate welfare and tax breaks to pay for it. Once again they're going to stick it to the middle class. I fear for the future of this country if McCain is elected.
What College Financial Aid can I get for my situation? I am a 6th year undergraduate student just trying to take two classes during the summer so I can get my B.A. degree. The problem is, is that I'm only 23-classified as a dependend student which is SOOO far from the truth. I have exhausted my total loan amount for the year during Fall semester. My parents won't co-sign loans for me or sign up for the Parent Plus loan. I have tried going to private lenders but have been declined based on my credit report and/or work history. I've only been employed at my current job for 3 months making $6.25 an hour as a part-time worker. Last job was 2 years. I don't know what else to do...All i want is to get my degree so I can start making REAL money and help out my family!
Will my chances to get admission in an Ivy League college get effected if I ask for financial aid ? I have a score of 1500 in GRE test. I wish to join an Ivy League college. I am not sure of admission to an Ivy League college with financial aid. However, I sense that the score and other credentials may get me the admission. Is this belief correct ? Or it does not matter whether you ask for financial help or not ; the admission to college is unrelated.
Why did McCain recently vote against college financial aid for war veterans? The funding would never even amount to 1% of the cost currently spent in Iraq.
Why is McCain getting rid of Social Security, Medicare and college financial aid? Is he doing so to fund the war, which he has pledged to prolong for 100 years, or is it to increase corporate welfare?
Question about college financial aid? I just finished my first year of college and the first semester I passes all but one class. The second I had to withdraw from 3. When I looked on my college's website it said that if you fail from classes so that you only finished 67% then you get put on financial aid warning. Does that mean that I will still get finiacial aid but I need to make sure that I do well in all my classes? Does anyone know?

If I am going to college, will financial aid support me if I go to another college? I did ask a question before on here and I feel so silly, but anyway, I do go to Mt. Olive College which is only one night a week and I would like to further my education and take up a course in psychology. Would Financial Aid support me in both Mt. Hence my concern that if i'd even qualify for this year even though i'm super broke.

I withdrew from college, is financial aid suspended for all schools? I withdrew from a semester at University of Alaska Anchorage. I didn't know that doing so would suspend my financial aid eligibility. I understand that if I complete a semester unaided, or if I appeal the suspension, I can reinstate my eligibility for aid. But I’ve decided to go to a technical school instead. So is my aid suspended COMPLETELY, or is it only suspended through the University?

College financial aid question. Please help!!!? Okay so I logged on to my personal college information, and from what my financial aid info tab says is this: -You have unsatisfied student requirements for this aid year. (Signed Financial Aid Award Letter unsatisfied) -Your estimated cost of attendance is $7,248.00. -You have been awarded financial aid which totals $7,248.00. -Based on your academic transcript, the status of your academic progress is Probation as of Spring 2008. -You have financial aid credits which appear within your account summary. -Your financial aid history has been recorded since you began your collegiate career. And, my question is.... Do I still get financial aid if I sign the award letter?? Please help, I'm confused.
College financial aid? I am wondering about financial aids for colleges. If I want to apply for some financial aid from that college, do I have to say that I am going to that college then apply or can I like apply and consider going to that school. It is really difficult because I can't 100% say yes then apply for aid and not get it because it is an out of state college so it would be way more expensive. Could someone clear this up for me? Thanks!
College financial aid problems? Anyway, I have some questions about financial aid. If you apply to a school under rolling admittance and get accepted are you still eligible for financial aid. college financial aid.....help please? i am currently under my guardians taxes and because of that financial aid has helped me a lot, i basically am having a free ride to my university. but recently ive been havin problems with my guardian and she treatened me to take me out of her dependents so i will have to pay for college myself. she basically doesnt let me go out with friends or be with my significant other (she's very old school mexican strict). so when i tried doing those things she started treatining me with that. so i was wondering if wa she says is true, that she can take me off and ill be screwed with payin for college.?, and if thats true, if i happen to move out to my brother's and put myself down as an indipendent, will financial aid give me any help?, will it be the same (as in about a free ride to college still)? or wa are the cons and pros of filling as indipenddent and not as the dependent please give an answer if you have messed with the FASFA program, thank u well shes my guardian due to the fact that my father abandoned us and my mother died when i was 13, i am now going to b 19, my aunt took me in
College-Financial Aid? My family is fairly well off, my dad makes about 200,000 a year. I really want to attend a private university (total 50,000), but my dad says that there is no way. I try to tell him that some colleges guarantee financial aid, but he says we won't qualify. I mean, is he right? Neither of my parents went to college, so how would they know? Is it logical to assume that I may receive some financial aid? What is the likelihood of me receiving a grant? I attend a blue ribbon/distinguished public high school in california. I have a 3.8-3.9 unweighted gpa, and I got a 30 on the act. I'm expecting to have 4 ap classes and 1 honor when I graduate, and I volunteer at the hospital 3 hrs. a week. Thanks a lot : ] P.S. If anyone has majored in pre-med or psychology, where did you go and how did you like it?
College financial aid...? I'm under 25 and I've lived in NC for one year now. Does anybody know if off campus living (ex. non-student housing apartments) are included in a college financial aid package? I know living expenses and room/board are included if you live on campus in a dorm or off campus in "approved" student apartments and homes but I was just curious if they would factor cost of living & housing in if you already have a lease or own a home somewhere else. I would have to cut work hours down to go to school and I just barely get by now. So I'm concerned about affording school and rent and bills. If I don't get enough financial aid to cover some bills or rent, I don't think I can go to college.
College financial aid/emancipation issues.? I know two people, with similar problems. One, a 21 year old whose parent flat refuses to give her W2 information and social security number to him. This prevents him from filing a FAFSA. Without this information College is not an option, she knows this, she prefers it that way. Does he have any way he can go to college? legal emancipation? Go to court and force her to give him this information without somehow spending more money than he would get in financial aid? The way I read it, marriage, or military service are the only ways he can go to college before 24, but I can't believe this to be true. The second person is 18, and was just kicked out of her home. She now won't have any of the money expected from her parents, while they keep her from getting any grant money. If she was 17 she could get legal emancipation, but from what I can see she cannot anymore. Does she have any legal options to go to college before 24? Again I know of marriage and the military. In the case of the one student, it is not a matter of the parents not paying. By not giving the information for the FAFSA it prevents the student from even taking out many loans! Until the age of 24 you MUST put parents information on the FAFSA. The fact they are adults is meaningless, the government classifies them as dependent. So, if your parents refuse to put their SSN number/W2s on the form you are unable to qualify for ANY grant money, and many, if not all student loans. What I am mostly looking for is a type of court order, or appeals process that could fix this issue.
College financial aid? question? help!? If you aply for college financial aid do you pay it off when your done with school? How much are they parments about? Can your parents pay for the financial aid? Thank you!
College financial aid problems . . . URGENT!!!!? My friend wants to go college this year and to do that she needs financial aid because she is getting married,26. Earlier this year her mother signed her up as an dependent on her taxes so that she could get better medical care. The financial aid place won't help her now because they only help independents and now they need to see her tax returns or some **** like that. She's really upset because this will stop her from pursuing a career that she wants. She's really upset and I'm worried about her. Please help!
College Financial Aid ... Parents..? I got a serious problem I need help with with financial aid. My dad owns his own business and my mom doesn't work well taxes are harder if you own a business well my mom and have been procrastinating my brother ended missing college and moving on to other things becuase they never finished them and the same thing is happening to me now. Any way I can file my own taxes (im 19) and get financial aid without my parents taxes. I have talked to them and all they do is get defensive and made about it and I have no idea what to do. college, financial aid, student loans, oh my...? I am 23 and have been out of college for a couple years, having a child and getting married and all, but I recently decided I would really prefer not to be a server for the rest of my life, so I am going back to school this fall come hell or high water but I have a couple questions, when I was in school before I had scholarships that covered everything so financial aid wasnt really a concern but now it definitely is, I filed a fafsa online and got my SAR, it says my EFC is 2608, anyone know what this means? My husband and I make an ok living so I doubt I will qualify for much but I also know I can not afford to pay for everything myself, so heres my other question, will I be able to get a student loan if I have bad credit? I am going in to talk to a counselor at the college sometime this week but I want to go in with some idea of what to expect so any thoughts and comments are welcomed, thanks in advance!
Need info on college financial aid? I was enrolled in a community college I applied for financial aid it was awarded to me but I had to withdraw for medical reasons. I went through all the proper channels on withdrawing I had a balance of around 1200.00 with admissions but financial aid awarded around 2100.00. I was told that I had a balance of 600.00 I want to know how can that be if I was awarded enough to cover that balance. No one at that college can answer that they keep giving me the run around. The first award letter that I got said 2100.00 the school said that they had to prorate the bill and sent me another letter that said that awarded me 461.00 so that is how the balance came about but what happen to the rest of the aid. Because when I add the balance and the 461.00 aid that they claim was giving that is the same amount that I had from the beginning. What do you think that I should do?
Cant get college financial aid/loans due to high EFC? Cant get college financial aid/loans due to high EFC? I filed my FAFSA and my EFC is so high that I cannot receive any financial aid or loans. I live in New York and I have been on my own sice 2004 - I live on a different address and all my bills, rent and car insurance are on my own name. I file my tax returns separately. My parents have loans that they are repaying back and they are NOT contributing to my college. How can i prove that i am not receiving any funds and apply for a student loan?

College financial aid help? Im an asian american who will go to college this year, my grades arent that good, and I have a green card in this country, and i will become a citizen in next two months. How does college financial aid work for international students? My name is Jospehine and I'm hoping to apply for Whitman with an IB score of 30-35 (but a lot of ECAs!). The issue for me is that I don't understand how financial aid in the US works, but I will surely need it! I'm not a US citizen, and my parents have said that the fees in the US are higher for international students, and that international students don't qualifiy for financial aid. My parents have also said they cannot afford to pay the full fees at a US liberal arts college, so I'm hoping there is some way I could take out a student load, but I really don't understand how the US system works! A simple explanation would be very much appreciated!
I am signed up for college, financial aid and got my schedule.? the thing is that the classes and books are not paid for. i applied late for FAFSA and it's going to reach the office, according to the financial aid people i've talked to, a week after classes start. I dont have money for books either. My question is will I be able to still go to college even though i haven't paid? or what can i do? i've tried talking to the people at the financial aid office and they just tell me to talk to the cashier who send me back when i go tot he. also classes start on thrusday for me. will the professors be using any textbooks the first week? will the professors kick me out of class? what can i do?
is there a chance of college financial aid ? I have a small family left. my father and me. he last year earned nearly 33.000 from his Temporary job and got some 11.000 from the government or the firm he worked for, for unemployment and some benefits (not sure what it means). he did nto work for almost a year and now he has a temporary job. My stepmothers income was pretty high, over 80.000 but they got divorced and now she is gone. and my natural Mother passed away in 2006 so she will obviously not be able to contribute anything either. I know there are probbaly some people who earn less than we do but is there still a chance of getting a need based financial aid that will cover most of the college expenses ? I just want to know what you think, not statistics or something. thank you
Can a 401(k) impact college financial aid? I currently have a 529 plan through New York State for both of my children. I have a 403b (401k for non profit). I was thinking that I would love to start 401(k)'s for my children who are 2 and 4 years old. Doing so would build nicely right up to their careers and then they can add to it as they work and instead of 30 years of growth, we would be looking at @ 50 to 60 years. The question is, by doing this, will this impact their financial aid when they apply for college? All answers welcome, but I would appreciate some references to sites/ books that will help answer this. Thank you. IRA - good Idea, I guess that is the q then, the IRA will impact them at 24? Then I should put it in their name?
How do I hide my money from the college financial aid people? So, college financial aid applications are due soon, and apparently when they process them, they assume that all of the student's money will go towards tuition and deduct 100% of their savings from the award. I have been saving up some money for study abroad/summer housing/emergencies/so I'm not completely broke when I graduate with thousands of dollars in loans to pay off. Basically I'm just trying to be responsible and financially stable. Is there something I can do with this money so that they can't see it? My family and I really can't afford to pay that much more.
Principles of College Financial Aid? Are scholarships and grants the safest way to receive financial aid? They do not require one to be in debt correct? Do prestigious colleges and universities offer a good percentage of financial aid? Take Stanford, Harvard, Yale, and Princeton as examples. Is it prudent to transfer money to other savings to lower income to increase financial aid? What scholarships can be offered to undergraduate minorities who have high GPAs?
College financial aid ? What points could be made in a plea to the financial aid dept. for consideration for more grants? My son, 18, a high school senior and employed, with car and insurance payments, got his financial aid award notice and is req'd to come up with about $8500 on his own thru student loans, for this fall. This amount was much higher than we expected, as we are a family of 6 and had only a 2400 EFC on the FAFSA. The financial aid office said to fill out a form they have on requesting additional assistance. Any suggestions?
College Financial aid? I recently got accepted into seton hall university. while checking collegeboard i saw that their average aid package is about $16,000.do they include scholarships in that total or just aid given by the college.I was wondering cause i got a $12,000 scholarship per year and was wondering if i can add $16,000 to that for 28,000 in aid or if they will jsut give me about $4000 more.
college financial aid... now what? I am so lost on the whole financial aid thing. I turned in my FAFSA and CSS before the due dates, and recently I have received several acceptance letters. Tonight I just turned in the correction for my FAFSA for the 2007 tax return. Now what do I do? Are the schools that accepted me going to tell me how much I need to pay for my tuition any time soon? I still haven't mailed them my family 2007 tax return yet. Very confused right now, please provide me with as much info as possible. Thank you a thousand times!!!
College Financial Aid for Wisconsin? I'm not sure if anyone will know the answer to this but I'm thinking on attending Marquette University in Fall 2008. This is a very expensive university and it is now April 23 and I'm wondering if it is too late to apply for Financial Aid. My dad is a doctor so I'm wondering if they'll even give it to us. Please help if you can?

Community college financial aid? I'm a junior at a university right now and every year I get a lot of extra money from fasfa for living expenses, however this next year I am taking a year off to get my basic done at a less expensive community college. Does anyone know if cost of living expenses will be included in my aid for a community college?
College financial aid? Does anyone know at what age you can stop using your parents tax information for your FAFSA application, so that it is strictly based on your income? My parents do not support me financially whats so ever, but they make too much money on my financial aid applications, so I never get what I need to cover classes.
College Financial Aid Help? Okay I applied ED to Syracuse University (the Newhouse school) and got in. Today I went to my profile on the site and it had updated financial aid info. I did fill out a CSS profile and submitted it, but have not yet done a FAFSA. My online profile says that I recieved a $15,100 dollar SU Grant, a $2700 work-study program (that I most likely will not take) and a $3500 Fed Stafford Loan. Are these numbers estimates or are they for sure? Will the money I get from FAFSA be additional to these awards or are these awards estimates of what the government will give me? Thanks in advanced for your help! :)

Financial Aid - College? When i went to a university here to get info on tuition etc- they told me their financial aid is capped at 17,000 per year for a student- so when you signed up for classes- fafsa would send them a check for 17,000 and they would take out your tuition and housing etc and then you get whats left in a check from the school to you for living expenses (ie apartment rent if not living on campus, car payment etc). Is it the same for a community college? Or are they different- or does it just depend on the school? When i called here the girl was a b***h who answered the phone and just said, "whatever is left goes to the bookstore so you can get your books, that's all i know" Does anyone know????? Im a single mom with 2 kids and need to plan so i know if i need to continue working full time while doing school full time- or if i will have enough to cover rent and expenses while im finishing my degree. thanks.
how to be qualified for college financial aid? how much do u receive each year? what is the amount based on? do many students have financial aid in ur school? what is the most amount you can receive (fafsa)?
question about college financial aid? i am 25 years old, currently attending college. I claim as an independent on my W2 form. Last year i filed about 6K as family contribution. This year i would filed more than this, would be over 10K. what does that do with my financial aid applying? Will i still get qualified with the same amount as i got for this year?
Will this factor into my expected family contribution (EFC) for college financial aid? I'm in a dramatic situation... basically between a rock and a hard place. Last Feb my uncle passed away leaving my mother $50,000 in stocks for retirement. My mom cashed in the $50,000 to put a down payment on a home. I'm a sophomore in college and my tuition is $25,000/yr. I got a lot of merit aid, on top of need aid and some big scholarships. But, will this 50k be factored into my mom's overall income next year? She's a single mother making $25/yr, my dad doesn't pay child support... I have no idea what to do. If it is counted toward my EFC then do I loose my federal aid? That's about half of my aid, and a lot of the reason a smart, poor kid like me can go to college is because of student loans and grants. Please help.
Are you allowed to work PT while recieving financial aid (for college FT)? Are you allowed to work while recieving financial aid (college)? How Can they revoke your financial aid? What are the rules regarding working and recieving aid from Fafsa?
College Financial Aid for AIDS-Disabled Persons? As a person with AIDS, my ability to do the physical skills involved in my previous careers has been totally eliminated. I'd like to go back to college (not a 1-2 yr. voc.-tech thing) to learn how to write professionally (one of the few professions that might fit in with chronic fatigue syndrome!). Living below the poverty-line on SSDI, rather than being able to earn a living, sucks! So: Does anyone know of any SPECIFIC programs that might be oriented my way? (Social Security has been- extremely- less than helpful.) Thank you!

College financial aid? I'm filling out a college application sheet and it's asking "Enter the amount your parents think they will be able to pay for your 2008-2009 college expenses." I'm not exactly sure what to put here because my parents don't know how much they're willing to pay for me to go to college. Any advice?

College Financial Aid question!? I go to a state university in Indiana and I was wondering if the amount of financial aid I receive would be less if I lived off campus next year in an apartment. I just realized that living in an apartment is less than living on campus! Thanks!
College/Financial aid question? My friend is having a hard time getting into college and his advisors are asking him to agree to enroll/start classes before he knows if his grant is final. He told me that there is a 1k due next week. He wanted me to ask or get get opinions if he should go through with it. *I say NO. That sounds a little too shaky to me*
Financial Aid For Self Supporting College Student? My step daughter, while not technically my husbands biological child (he raised her for 20 of her 21 years), has been attending college. Her financial aid is based on her mother and step fathers income which is too much for her to recieve financial aid. Yet her mother and her step father have do nothing to help her financially for the last 3 years in college. We have tried to help her out where we can, but we also have three other children to take care of living at home, so there isn't much extra these days. I know there is a way for her to claim herself as self supporting. However, we can't get that information from the college and my research thus far has led me nowhere fast. She doesn't live at home and has no children. My question, can someone explain the steps for applying for financial aid as self supporting even though you have no children of your own?
FASFA College financial aid (about Bank account )? If I have a Checking account and a saving account, what is the limitation of the amount of money I should have in the account that will not afect my financila aid? Thanks for reading.
2 questions about college financial aid... help please? The first concern is that they denied me of any grants, because of the fact that I made more than $16000 last year... (actually something like $19000, but everybody knows this is not not a lot of money). I "QUIT" that job because they were working me on average 52hrs a week. The college I am attending right now is about an hours drive from where I live. (there was no way I could attend full-time classes, drive to and from, study and work those hours,) I would never sleep. Well anyways now I make like $120/wk... and they won't give me any grants because of the amount I made last year? I quit my "great paying job" to attend school and further myself. The second issue is that after this I took out additional loans (more than what I was approved for) to be able to pay for the classes... I got a letter in the mail today, and the additional amount that I requested wasn't included in the letter... I was told that I could request upto $4000/yr on top of what I was approved for. Help... THX
