Does the financial aid application apply to all grants and scholarships? My daughter is about to enter college.She filled out the FASA application and was denied.Since she has already filled out the FASA application,what should she do next to get grants,scholarships or other aid to help pay for college?Is the financial aid office going to help her with all the monies available for her,or is there other places or agencies that she need to be applying for these monies?What are her other choices out there?

However, since i will be attending a bigger school, I'm afraid that i might receive less.

Please give me advice on what I should do concerning financial aid? Ok this is my problem I am wanting to file for finacial aid for fall semester and my mother will not give me her fedral forms so I can complete the financial aid application she always says that they should not need my tax forms because I do not live with her and that I am an adult. So I call the financial aid office at my local community college and had them explain why they need her taxes. So after they explained to her why I then preceeded to ask her my I please have your tax forms so I can complete my financial aid application and she said well you dont even have a job to support you, remember college doesn't start until August, and I know I will find a job by then. Then she was like why don't you get a job before completing the application and I try to explain to her that you have to file in advance in order to ensure that everything will be completed before the semester starts. FAFSA application and financial aid eligibility? I'd just like to make sure I'm in the clear here. I am filling out my financial aid information and have come across something intriguing. A few years ago I tried to apply for financial aid and lived on my own with no support but couldn't qualify because they wanted my parents income information. Now the tables have turned. I am 23 and living under my parent's roof again while I attempt to finish my college degree. On the application, it says that I am 'Independent' because I am 23 or older. Under 'Household/Family Size' it says that I should only include a spouse or dependents that receive more than half of their support from me. I make less than what is required for 'Automatic Zero'. Can I really take this to mean that I can make no money, live with my parents and simply because I'm over the age limit, I am still Independent and my EFC is really zero?
I want to go to college and qualify for financial aid? I have filled out the application for financial aid about a year and a half ago and nothing has changed as far as income coming in. I have a question about medical financial aid applications-am I being trapped? I contacted the medical billing dep of the hospital where I was treated. I talked to a woman there. I told her that I dont have the balance in full,and wantd 2 make payments. she sd they have an application where, if i jst sign it and hav a witness sign it, it would greatly decrease my bill. she mailed it to me. I was asking about a payment arrangement. she sd she can't just set up a payment arrangement, that after i sign this paper and return it, then they will set one up. So i get this paper in the mail, and along w/it is a financial statement, and directions. Directions sd that i must provide copies of: currnt paycheck stubs, banks statemnts of my checking and savings. on the application, it wants to knw ALL of my expenses, amount, my family member's names, etc. and the disclaimer is, even if i provide this info, it is not a guarantee that i wll be aprovd for assistance. I hav no type of med insurance @ all. Are they trying to help me, or get me to giv up my info, so they can get.. the highest monthly payments out of me as possible? are they trying to find out where i work, so they can deny me assistance, and jst ganish my wages? Am I still able to recive financial aid (FASFA)? Im a jr. in high school. Im starting to look into college admissions and all of that. I know that they recomend that we fill out a FASFA financial aid application. The thing was that my brother applied and didnt get any money (he got like $200). The thing is that my is receiving Social Security Benefits for himself and at that time my brother was also reciving them. The people at the social security place told my brother that he didnt get financial aid, was becuase he was receving social security benefits. Then again, he didnt apply to college or a university. Financial aid in CA? I recently received a letter stating that I am not elegible to receive financial aid assistance; which I find shocking. I live with my single, unemployed mother. She owns property worth approx. $550, 000. She barely makes enough(with the rent) to pay expenses. She makes small income by cleaning houses ocasionally. 529 Plan...what counts against financial aid? Okay...both sets of grandparents want my baby's ss# so that they can put money away for her. I'm grateful and thrilled. We're planning to open a 529 account for her, partially because I learned that this money won't be counted if she needs to apply for financial aid for college. So, I'm wondering how to ask the grandparents to invest in a way that won't count against her in later aid applications. Since they have not talked to us about it, I'm assuming they don't want to put it in an account that we control. Otherwise, I would think they'd just give us the money to invest and talk to us about it. So, can they open a 529 plan in our state, in her name, if we already have one? Should we coordinate with them to open plans in different states? Or are there other investment options that they could use that would not be counted as assets on a financial aid application? How do I hide my money from the college financial aid people? So, college financial aid applications are due soon, and apparently when they process them, they assume that all of the student's money will go towards tuition and deduct 100% of their savings from the award. I have been saving up some money for study abroad/summer housing/emergencies/so I'm not completely broke when I graduate with thousands of dollars in loans to pay off. Financial Aid..? Ok, so I work about 20 hours a week on a $9 an hour salary (which is a joke). I am going to get my W-2 soon, but I was wondering more about the whole financial aid issue. I received a 2007-2008 financial aid reward (Pel/Cal Grant) of about $1500 per quarter, which is enough to cover my tuition and barely a couple hundred extra that I usually pay for books with. The previous year, 2006-2007, I received a lot more than that amount since I didn't record my income, which helped me out a lot. The 2007-2008 year was less because I entered into the application that I received a certain income throughout the year, but that I was also dependent. I'm afraid that they won't grant me the amount that I need to pay for tuition and books for 2008-2009, since I am working. Do I HAVE to mention my salary? I don't know if it's considered as anything, because what I make just makes up for gas, cell phone bills, doc's visits, etc. What'll happen if I don't enter my salary on the application? Pls help!

Financial aid and child support? I'm currently going to a community college and get full financial aid. I live with my mother and my father pays child support. My question is: I'm going to apply for private college, they ask if i receive child support on the financial aid portion of the application. Financial Aid for Summer Sessions? I am currently a super senior (5th year) at my university and due to unforeseen circumstances, I will not be attending the school this year. Fortunately, I already have enough credits and all of my major work done to graduate in December. To help postpone the impending student loan repayment, I want to start a graduate program next year. The odd thing is my program starts in June of 08.
