if your unable to pay your debts for student financial aid, will the person who sponsor need to pay the debts?

if somebody applies for student financial aid and the university requires a sponsor in which he could show a good amount of money that he is able to support the student as long he/she is studying in USA, and if in any case after that student graduates and is not able to pay his debts, is there any possibility that the debts would be collected from the sponsor?

  2. I know that when my grandmother cosigned my student loan, she was effectively agreeing to repay the loan in the event I am not financially responsible. I think the same principle may apply here.
