How can my aunt who has a bone marrow cancer avail of financial help?

- if the financial issues are medical related the hospital will be able to help, medical debt is easily handled and does not effect your credit (even if it shows on your report it is not considered when requesting credit). as for any other financial issues... call the company owed, discuss payment options with them...
- Sorry to hear about this. My son also has cancer, his is MDS and it is in the bone marrow too. We have received help for expenses related to treatment (though they can be travel, lodging, etc...) through they Leukemia and Lymphoma Society http://www.leukemia-lymphoma.org/hm_lls Also, if she is having a bone marrow transplant for it, http://marrow.org/ offers financial assistance She may also qualify for social security disability... That takes a lot of paperwork but can be a financial godsend, and she will then qualify for medicare (government insurance) to pay all upcoming medical expenses) It is worth trying. Good luck!
