How can I receive financial help from NJ ?
I am a single mother who has a full time job and make just enough money to pay the bills. It is difficult for me to put gas in my car and do little extra's like, birthday parties, Christmas.... I do not qualify for financial assistance, but feel that I should. I am not asking for much just maybe food stamps to help us get by. I am owed a large amount of child support, but can not receive it b/c my sons father is incarcerated. The logical thing would be to get another job, but I can not do that because I don't have child care accessible to me on nights and weekends. Am I missing something?

- Try going to your State Senator's office. There has to be one close to you. Explain your situation and they might know some programs that are available for people in your situation. If your children are young, you might qualify for WIC which gives you milk and some food. Be persistent and don't give up. Good luck.
