financial aid?

i applied for financial aid a several months ago. i have recieved a summary of what fafsa has for me...i did verify everything. when do i know for sure i am eligible and will get financial aid. (i already logged into the web site and already spoke with my student advisor) i start school early...i'm starting in july. i haven't heard anything yet...what do i do now?

  1. You should call the financial aid office at the school you applied to.
  2. When you say that you received a "summary," do you mean your SAR (which would have come to you right after you filed the FAFSA). Or do you mean that your Financial Aid Office sent you a letter detailing your eligibility? If they sent a letter, that may be all you will receive from them for a while. The best thing to do is talk to your Financial Aid Office. Sometimes, they require other forms which you might need to complete before they will even look at your application -- this could be the reason for the delay (if there is, in fact, a delay). I require applications by January and mail award letters in April; bills are due in July and students begin in August/Sept. Since your timeline seems to be "stepped-up" by a few months, you should probably have heard something from them by now. Don't worry too much, though. They will tell you if you are missing anything. But you'll never know if you don't ask.
