Emergency FinAid...Mid School Year? Any suggestions?

I need to know any sources of emergency financial aid. (A loan will be my last option.) Here is the thing: I have filed my FAFSA for the 2007-2008 year with my 2006 tax info. I got a weak grant and a private scholarship. In August 2007 I got laid off from work. That means that in 2007 I made half of what I made in 2006. So I know my EFC has change. I am married so now am only on my husband's income. The money I have left for the 2008 Spring semester is only $1500. That is not even enough for all my classes let alone books. I have filed an appeal with my school's fin aid office but they have not been very helpful. Do you know where else I could try to get money for this upcoming semester? Any emergency money for a situation like mine? I have kept my part time job but it is not nearly enough that just gas money... Any sound suggestions will be appreciated, thank you!!

  1. A lot of banks offer SPECIAL loans for students in your situation with low interest rates or loans you can pay after graduation etc. Check out www.bankofamerica.com and see what they have to offer or other banks.
  2. I don't know if this blog will help, but it's worth a try. Alicia
