As one gets older, do they celebrate holidays?
I'm personally twenty years old and ever since I was eighteen and out from under my family's roof, no one contacts me (fine by me) and no one I live with celebrates holidays. Is it because as we get older and away from relatives we oust those family-togetherness because we are no longer actually kids and therefore no need for them? Also since I have been seventeen not once received a birthday gift, but always try to treat myself if possible on the day. Roomies don't do anything to separate the holidays from the everydays, oh they will get a pie for say Thanksgiving/Christmas, but that's as far as it goes. One doesn't cook at all and the other is so religious he believes the devil is behind everything aside Jesus' day. Don't judge just answer and as unbiased as possible. To understand better, not that this matters. I was ill-had complications so I was kicked out, not even my family could tolerate taking care of an adult who was a financial burden, I was a costly child.

- I am twenty, also, and I still celebrate the holidays. It seems that your family situation has something to do with your not celebrating the holidays. If you really wanted to celebrate, invite yourself to your family's dinner or whatever it is you do. My situation is a little different, my family (aunts, cousins, etc) get together every sunday and have dinner, and are always together for other fun events, but we all live beside each other, on land that used to be my grandpa's. I'm very sorry to hear that your family kicked you out due to medical complications. My ten year old cousin, Jonathan, has cystic fibrosis, but that's not something we can get mad at him for. In fact, we like to spoil him, in case something bad ever happens. I hope you get to do something fun this Christmas!!! Good luck!
- I am 67 years old,Grandmother of five and soon to be great grandmother to twins. Have three sons. We always get together and celebrate every holiday.I would have it no other way and I know my family wouldn't either.Christmas,Thanksgiving,Easter and everything in between. This doesn't only include my children and grandchildren, but my brothers and sisters too. I do all the cooking and one of my sisters does all the baking and dessert making. Ill,costly or whatever, should have made no difference. You were their child. I will be a child at heart forever and I cherrish every moment spent with my family. I wish you a Happy Christmas and God Bless.
