College financial aid question. Please help!!!?
Okay so I logged on to my personal college information, and from what my financial aid info tab says is this: -You have unsatisfied student requirements for this aid year. (Signed Financial Aid Award Letter unsatisfied) -Your estimated cost of attendance is $7,248.00. -You have been awarded financial aid which totals $7,248.00. -Based on your academic transcript, the status of your academic progress is Probation as of Spring 2008. -You have financial aid credits which appear within your account summary. -Your financial aid history has been recorded since you began your collegiate career. And, my question is.... Do I still get financial aid if I sign the award letter?? Please help, I'm confused.

- If they sent you a letter to say you have been awarded financial aid ...then yes. But if your on probation...and you dont know why then... you might want to find out....hope it helps!!!
- It looks like it. But you have also been put on probation for bad grades, which means if you don't get your GPA up they will take away your financial aid. Find out what it needs to be to get you off probation so this doesn't happen. Good luck.
- The first thing to do is sign the award letter and get it in! Maybe you can "sign" it online? I don't know if you will still get aid -- but it sure looks like you certainly won't get it without the letter! The "probation" bit might be a red herring -- if this is your first term, maybe pobation is the normal status until the first term's grades are in. But in any event, get that letter in!!!
- Your financial aid office is better qualified to answer your question. I go to a 2-year junior college in California. Its their policy to only give a one-semester chance for a student on academic probation to show improvement, before they cut off financial aid until the student demonstrates improvement on academic performance. Sounds like you've gotten some Ds to fall below the minimum GPA requirements. Are you aware that each semester unit means 3 hours of study time a week? A full 12 units of classes means 36 to 40 hours of studying and research a week. If you're not putting in at least 34 hours of studying a week, then you're having time management issues.
- Call the financial Aid office at your college and ask them to explain it to you. That is (after all) what they get paid to do!
