Help me find out whats wrong with my cat!!! PLEASE!?
I need some help trying to figure out whats wrong with my cat. Being the holidays I cant take him to a good vet untill wednesday. Right now since Sunday he has been at the Animal Emergency Clinic. I really worry about them and I dont feel like there doing everything to help him. Before I explain what all's going on does anyone know of any financial help you can get for your pet if your turned down for care credit? After paying the $600 at the AEM its going to be hard to pay a good regular vet. Ok here is whats going on. Sunday morning my girlfriend woke me up and said that my cat(milo) was acting funny. He was breathing really heavy and his nose was running. He would walk around a bit and fall down with no energy to move. It happened over night. He was fine the night before. He sleeps with us in the bedroom with the door shot. I would almost rule out him eating or drinking anything harmful. I was looking under the bed for my shoes and I found a pile of throwup that I cleaned up. In

- How old is the cat? He might have worms or heart problems. I had a young cat that had feline leukemia. Best of luck. And google online for Pet credit cards. Believe it or not, they actually make them. Otherwise, find a vet that will let you set up payment plans. Most will, because they want to save the animal.
- it could be a number of things it could have ate something around your house like string or something runny nose is a symptom of feline lukimia along with eyes with a lot of matter in them it could also be heartworms
- If he is breathing heavy/wheezing and his nose is running, he may have a URI (upper respiratory infection). I volunteer at an animal shelter and that seems to be one of the most common illnesses in cats. If that's the case, I wouldn't worry too much, it is very treatable with medication. That could also explain the vomitting, if he has mucus from his nose dripping into his stomach and he doesn't have a great appetite, his stomach may also get upset. I hope you find out what it is and he gets better soon! It's awful having a sick pet. Best of luck.
- he had to have eatin something harmful. since you cleaned up the throwup, then you don't know what he could have eatin. he could have a 24 hour virus type thing that cats get, or a upper respitory infection. right now all you have is the emergency vet. it is better then him being at your house you know? When wednesday comes, take him to a good vet, and ask them what he has and what is needed to treat it. that should keep the cost at a minimum. good luck with milo and happy new year!
- From what you describe, I would suspect heart or kidney problems. Kitties are notorious for hiding illness and when you see the symptoms, which seems like overnight, they are very ill. Here is a list of agencies that will help with funds for emergencies. It is under feline diabetes, but they help with all kinds of emergencies. I hope one of these can help you.
