Can I consolidate these two loans?
I currently have two student loans: one with my state and one with Citibank. I am in forbearance with the state one and have missed payments on the Citibank. Do you think the state will accept the Citibank one even though I am behind? Or should I try to get a forbearance with Citibank first before trying to consolidate? Thank you for any advice/information. No lectures please.

- I dont believe you can consolidate a "state" loan with a federal loan. But in any case, you need to make the Citi loan current. Call and ask them what you need to do. Beware of agencies that WILL consolidate your two loans. It will probably not be financially smart. Typically if a loan is NOT in good standing, you cannot consolidate it. Good Luck.
