i need help with my fafsa, and financial aid, but my parent live in mexico?
I'am 17 years old and need help with my fafsa, my parents live in juarez and i live in el Paso texas, an uncle wants to claim me in his taxes which i dont want to, iam afraid it will hurt my financial aid.

- You need to talk to your school guidance counselor about this if you can! I would hate for you or your family to get mixed up in some crazy tax stuff over this. However, if your uncle is supporting you while you are in the US (clothes, food, a place to live) he does have a right to claim you on his taxes. I don't know how this may affect your financial aid - are you a citizen of the US? Are your parents citizens of the US or Mexico? These things may make a big difference. you should definitely talk to a professional - NOT people on Yahoo answers - about this! good luck!!!
- the only thing that i would recomend is going to the financial aid office and let them know about that. i believe your school (UTEP or EPPC) might have a program to help this situation. . . .good luck. . .and GO MINERS!! (or tejanos. . .where ever you are going.)
