Should the government give financial aid for college to non-americans, legal or not?
I'm tired of working my butt off paying for college, and i'm still going to get out of here with a student loan dept, where as these people from other countries can hardly speak english and yet they have scholarships and government financial aid to go to a public state university. Its aggrivating!!! And they wonder how terrorists were right here in America!!!

- nope they shouldn't.. and i also think that their parents should have to be legal also.. since they use MY parents tax returns to determine how much I should get... then my parents should have to be legal (which they are but you get the point)
- I believe that the government should only grant government dollars towards the education of those whose parents have put into the system and those who have and will put money into the system. If someone is here illegally, they should be responsible for paying their own way through college. Additionally, I think it should be combined needs based and academically based decision. Why would we want to give government money to someone who can afford to go to college and has mediocre grades when there are others who can barely afford to put food on the table but have stellar intellectual abilities??
- This won't be a popular answer but here it goes...Sit down with one of these students and have a chat. Find out how they are getting through school, how difficult it is for them to learn in a foreign country with a foreign language. Learn a bit on what they are doing for extra income or what they do in the job market. I think you will find some students are here on student visas. They are being paid for by their parents back home and if they did take out a student loan they have to pay it back just like you or I. Now for students that are here illegally and getting financial aid and grants....that is just downright unfair. They are reaping the benefits of a system that they had no part in.
- There is a very good and very short answer to this question: NO!!!
