Student Loans with bad credit and no cosigner?

Hi All I was traveling one time and didn't have a chance to really look at Financial matters - it lead to a very bad credit history. Adding to it I am very close to getting my permanent residency, only then I 'll be eligible to get Federal loans. I was wondering if there are banks or financial institutions which offer student loans to people with bad credit history and without a cosigner. thanks
