do you get more financial aid if you choose to live ON or OFF campus at your university?

Im currently applying for financial aid and I'm trying to get the most aid in order to assist me through my college living. which option on the financial aid application should i pick when asked if I'm livivng on or off campus?

  1. If you prove to them that you have very low income it wouldn't matter if you live on or off!
  2. ON They'll cover dorm (or on-campus housing) costs with financial aid, but they will not cover things like an off-campus apartment.
  3. Schools will let you receive financial aid to live off campus, you will receive a refund check to pay your rent, bills, ect. Some schools, especially private colleges and universities will offer larger scholarships to students who live on campus. For federal aid, it doesn't make a difference if you live on campus or not, you receive the same amount. It is important that your school knows your choice, because they use this information to create a budget for you.
