FAFSA and Financial Aid?

So, I filled out the forms at the beginning of the year, to recieve financial aid for fall. I got confirmation emails back a few days later letting me kow how to review my forms, and that my expected parent contribution is 0. How long do I have to wait to know wheather or not I'll be getting grants? And, is there anything else that I was supposed to do besides submit the FAFSA forms?

  1. You need to meet with a financial aid officer at the school you wish to attend. They'll be able to tell you what you did qualify for and if you need to fill out anything else. Financial aid also includes the Stafford student loan. You won't know what your costs are and what FAFSA is going to cover until you meet with an FAO. Every school has different costs; tuition, books, lab fees, etc. Good Luck.
  2. Hi, I assume that you have applied to multiple colleges since you are looking to start in the fall. When you filled in your FASA form did you put these colleges on the list to be sent your information? if so the colleges will have you information and they will send you the information on what you will be offered. Most college use the FASA forms to figure the financial aid and they use you grades (sent by your high school transcripts ) to give you and Merit type scholarship's
  3. Some college will have a special form for their college you have to fill out, but that usually gets mailed to you (I had to fill one out and it basically got sent upon the college's receipt of my application for admission).
