How long do I have to wait before I can re-apply for financial aid?!?
I had unexpected complication with my pregnancy this past fall and failed the quarter in college. I received a letter saying I was dropped from the school and had lost my financial aid. How long do I have to wait to re-apply? I'm changing my major as well...does that make a difference? Please help! Thanks :)

- Losing your financial aid usually has to do with your GPA. You don't have to reapply for the 07-08 year. You need to work something out as far as your GPA is concerned with your financial aid office. I had a similar issue when I came back to school this semester after leaving for 4 yrs. I had been sick and my GPA dropped. They told me I didn't qualify for financial aid. I filed an appeal with the financial aid office telling them what had happened and how it wasn't going to happen again and why. They gave me my financial aid.
- Most financial aid is renewable to students whose academic progress is acceptable. The definition of acceptable progress, however, can vary. Thus you must contact the financial aid office at the college in question. By the way, with documented evidence of your medical problems, you may be able to help yourself.
