Fafsa/Financial Aid?
I had summitted my fafsa form online before the deadline. I used my parents 2006 income to guess their 2007 income. I didn't really know what I was doing as I had to do the whole thing by myself. I did not purposely lie but i don't think the information may be accurate either. The school have already started sending in their financial aid packages (one college has asked for verification). I don't want to accept them until i have given them the correct info. My parents just filed their 2007 income tax forms. Can i still change my fafsa information now and have them change their financial aid package? I don't want to be charged for fraud b/c i really didn't know what I was doing. I am very worried about this...

- Yes you can change all this. I'm going through the same thing, my school asked for verification. Just verify the information with the Tax forms that you have, and everything will be fine. You wouldn't be fined for making an honest mistake. Don't worry. I've forgotten what it is called...Go to the FAFSA website, and you can like...reivse? update? something like that, your information, and it will all be okay. Good luck!!
- Relax! Just go to the FAFSA site and there is an area that talks about updating or correcting info entered before. Just go there and turn in copies of the tax returns to the school. The school expects you to estimate if you don't have the actual info so don't worry.
- Go to the fafsa website and correct your information. You will need your PIN and your parents pin to do it... but it is pretty simple. Good luck.
