What kind of financial aid is available to a working mother that has a BA already????

I just found out that I will not be elegible for Pell Grants Student loans. Most of the scholarships that are out there do not kick in until I have reached my second year in the program that I have chosen. I am starting to lose hope right now. Without financial aid or scholarships, I will not be able to continue my education. I have been looking for work on either a part-time or night option, but what I have found is that the prospective employers are not flexible when it comes to school, or they have indicated that I am too overqualified. I have also been to those web sites locate free scholarships- that appears to have been a waste; all I keep getting is advertisments for colleges and programs that I am not interested in. I cannot see this sites comming through with credible funding- just junk mail. Most of the scholarships in my area of study are for minorities and underrepresented groups of students. Single moms- NO! Any positive answers are appreicated. Thanks.

  1. I'm finding out the hard way- that there is not much help for single working moms that already have a college degree. Your best bet is for student loans. Sorry that's all I got.
  2. You can go to http://www.about-student-loans.net http://www.student-loans-choices.com it's about student loans information or http://www.all-about-scholarship.com it's about scholarships information Good luck
  3. Because most of these grants and financial aid are geared toward helping the first time student get through school- you are expected to make the most of what education you received and build from there. In your situation, student loans may be one of the only options available to you. Good Luck.
