Fed Financial

How can get really low financial aid from "Federal" for college than before?

If I file a 1040A form istead pf 1040EZ form for income tax, would I get less financial aid? or If my mother and my income goes up, would I get less F.Aid?

  1. If your mothers or your income goes up, your EFC (expected family contribution) will go up, making it to where you are given less aid. Im not sure if filing a different IRS form will make any difference, I would say it doesnt. It all just depends on income. The more income, the less aid. The less income, the more aid.
  2. The FAFSA looks at how much income you made regardless of whether it is taxed or not. Thier calculations estimate in tax brackets (that's why non-taxable income is in a seperate section). So file the form you prefer. You were mentioning your mother, if she is in yor household (dependent or not) she will help adjust your FAFSA score towards getting more money.
