college financial aid- esitmated by year or by four years?

i was estimated as financial aid at 37,000? but it doesnt say if that is a year or over the 4 years

1. Usually estimates are on a yearly basis and include cost of tuition, room & board, books, etc.
2. It depends on the career, if you are in a very expensive career (medicine, law), the estimate might be per school year. Or it might be just for the whole career, and after you use what's available, you won't have anymore money for you. To be 100 % sure, just talk to financial aid at your school.
3. This estimate is for the year. You need to renew each year and your college should require you to resubmit your info. This is just to check how much money you made and what your needs are. So your aid could change from year to year.
