- First of all, it is important to know which country you and your wife belong to. If you are an Indian residing in India, I am quoting from "FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE" of the Tata Memorial Hospital (a specialised cancer treatment centre in Mumbai, India) page. "Only General 'NC' category patients are eligible for financial assistance based upon evaluation by the Medical Social Work Department. Such patients may approach the Medical Social Worker who will forward appeals to different philanthropic trusts to seek financial assistance on behalf of the patient Individual accounts for patients receiving financial aid from philanthropic institutions will be maintained and costs incurred by the patient will be debited to the account. Medical Social Welfare Department also arranges for free/subsidised accommodation at Borges Memorial Home and other residential institutions for deserving patients." Their contact information is: Tata Memorial Hospital, Dr. E Borges Road, Parel, Mumbai - 400 012, India. Tel. +91-22- 24177000, 24146750 - 55 Fax: +91-22-24146937 E-mail: info@tmcmail.org and tmcit1@vsnl.com
