Fed Financial

I have some questions about financial aid?

I filled out my FAFSA in January as soon as I finished my taxes. In April I received a letter from the school I'm hoping to attend to verify my taxes. I did that and they found an error in my taxes, so I had that corrected and sent the the new form. I still after several weeks have not heard from them. My question is will this delay cause me to lose federal financial aid? Also the state of Missouri says the federal processor must receive your FAFSA by April 1, will I be disqualified because of the tax error? Thanks

  1. you will not be disqualified because of errors. If you fixed the problem and have not heard anything, that is probably good news. If you must know what is going on, simply contact the financial aid department at the school and ask what is the status of your financial aid application or when will they be sending the award letter. The award letter tells you how much they gave you in Financial Aid. You are fine...Enjoy your summer!!!!
  2. You should be fine...go to the school and talk to someone in the financial aid office. Just keep bothering them until they tell you what you want to hear... good luck
