Does the GI Bill reduce the amount of FAFSA aid you will get?

I was looking at the Free Application for Financial Student Aid, and it asked how money the military is giving you to go to college. So does that mean you get less need-based aid from the government/universities if the military helps you go to school?

  1. I've never put any military $ down on any form, its not income, it is a benefit, so don't show it. It will be counted as income and your grant will be less. remember IT'S NOT INCOME!! (neither is work study $$) just shut up about it!!! : )
  2. The school I go to adds it onto my award letter. So I think that it does reduce the amount of grants that you receive.
