How should international students apply for financial aid?
Since international students cannot apply using the FAFSA, how can they apply for financial aid? By aid, I mean need-based grants, not scholarships or loans. Some colleges use institutional aid. But the institutional aid form that calculates your estimated family contribution asks for a social security number and info from a U.S. tax return (eg. 1040EZ etc.). So how can an international student calculate his/her need using the institutional aid form?
