Does the financial aid application apply to all grants and scholarships?
My daughter is about to enter college. She filled out the FASA application and was denied.Since she has already filled out the FASA application, what should she do next to get grants, scholarships or other aid to help pay for college? Is the financial aid office going to help her with all the monies available for her,or is there other places or agencies that she need to be applying for these monies? What are her other choices out there?

- The financial aid office may have an array of scholarships that she may be able to apply for. You can also go online to Fastweb.com. Its a scholarship database that matches scholarships to your profile, and it's free. I will be starting school as well this fall and I have set up a a blog to record my college journey. There I list alot of other college funding resources that may be helpful to you. Check out the link below. Good luck :-)
- She can go to her guidance counselor at her high school and ask about scholarships (howerver she probably had to do it well in advance), also you can apply for scholarships on websites such as fastweb.com. If she was denied financial aid on her FASFA form it's unlikely she is ever going to receive a grant bc thats where all the government grants are disbursed through. Check your local organization's like women's clubs and places like that that give out student help. Also, go to the college website she is going to and check for scholarships. If all else fails and she is desperate for money, she can get a direct loan for up to 30,000 a year from Astrive.com and EducationOne.com (now owned by Chase Morgan). When shopping for a loan you should be looking at a few things. Most importantly is the interest rate and time alloted for repayment. Those websites offer 20-30 years after graduation for repayment and you have the option of deferring all interest and payments until after graduation, however the interest rates are higher when you choose that option. Good Luck to her and always shop around and think of all your options for making a decision. College is a blast even if you have to get loans....I had to and I'm in a small amount of debt but it is worth your education and it will be repaid numerous times over after you graduate with a college degree. It looks way better on a resume...
- She will have to apply to each scholarship separately She can go to sites such as: http://www.daylon.com/scholarship/ and follow the instructions
- Nope for scholarships you will need to go to sites such as http://www.humba.org or FastWeb
