In need of financial help, please help?

I am in dire need of financial help... I have tried to apply for a loan, in which that did not work because of my credit score. I am about to have a little girl on october 2nd, and have a car that has broke down and have been told that it will never run again because of the engine... it locked up. I am trying to get a $5000.00 loan from somewhere, someone, somehow, to get me out of this hole that I am in. I have missed many Dr's appointments and other appointments because I do not have a car. If anyone can help me, I would greatly appreciate it and I am employed, but the money that I make, goes to bills and buying baby items that I need for the baby. Please, if anyone is out there that can help me, I need help...

  1. Try American General Finance. They have been able to help me when I have been in bind. However, the interest rate may be high. Look in your phone book. they are every where.
  2. Don't get a loan pay cash. But if you can't. Go to a credit union, they are nicer than banks. You should be able to get a $5K loan there. If you're a single mom, I really feel for you. Maybe try to get the dad to help out. If he can't help, bug his parents! I admire you for trying to get a used car and not blow a bunch of money in a new car. Check out the following 2 links for financial help in general. This is not easy quick fix stuff. This is long term life changing. I highly recommend that you participate in a small group offered by either one. You will learn sooooo much! One more thing, before you even start searching for a car, go to Consumer Reports website, pay the $5 or $10 fee and start researching there. They will tell you what cars to stay away from and what cars are pretty good. See link below.
  3. Doctors appointments should be a priority! Contact some local social service agencies and tell them of your circumstance -- they might be able to arrange rides for you
  4. Call the county and ask about income requirements for assistance. You might qualify for some financial help. Call the United Way in your area. They are a central clearinghouse for all charities in the area and can direct you to agency that can help. Call or go to churches in your area - many offer help, including bus tokens. The requirements vary widely so you have to ask around. If you do those things, you will begin to have a list of a bunch of agencies and churches in your area that help in different ways. Some may just pay gas bill, and only if you're working. Others maybe groceries. Think about, after delivery, a new (better) job.
  5. first of all you need to go to www.daveramsey.com Dave is a christian financial counselor. He has a radio show and offers free budget forms on his web-site. Why do you need 5000.00 - See if you can find a used car for much less than that. One that will just get you from point A to point B for a little while. Use your contact to see if you can find a man that sells used cars. I have a neighbor that knows about cars and always knows one that has one to sell. With a new baby coming you don't need to spend 5000.00 on a car
  6. When they say no ...the first thing is to ask "why"? You can not change or fix anything until you have some answers. Were you declined because of insufficient income or total debt load? Well, both of these are areas where it is possible, and not that difficult, to make changes. Are you applying for a loan that exceeds what you have for collateral - perhaps a lower amount will work? It is always best to explore all your options instead of going from place to place expecting something different, as their decision will likely be the same.
