Financial aid/ special insurance/government help for pregnant woman?

My best friend is married but seperated, and living with her boyfriend, who she's pregnant by. She doesn't have a job, and he just lost his (because he quit going in, basically he's lazy). He isn't looking for a job, she doesnt have a car so she cant get a job, and they're one late payment away from getting kicked out of their apartment. She found out she was pregnant in July and she still hasnt had any prenatal care because she cant afford it. I dont have money to help them out. Is there any government programs or financial aid they can qualify for? Also is there any kind of insurance she can get so she can finally go to a baby doctor? We live in Wisconsin if that helps. Im just not sure where we should start looking. (I'm looking for her because she's kind of in denial about how bad her situation really is)

  1. she needs to go to her local welfare department and see what they tell her.
  2. She has to make an appointment to go in and talk to the welfare department. They'll have all the information on what type of assistance she can receive and also help her find a job. They also have free or low cost doctors whom your friend can see for her prenatal care, all the way to the baby's birth.
  3. She needs to go to your local health department, or family and children services. They should be able to set her up on medicate, and wic. (wic is where she'll get vouchers for milk, juice, cereal and other things that will help make her healthy through her pregnancy). Also she should try her local united way, they sometimes help with some expenses. Good luck
