Do you think people who work and need financial government help should get it over the ones who dont work?
Working man vs the non lazy ass working person. Who should get help over the other?

- How do you define lazy? Spending all day at home trying to take care of 10 kids? How about somebody who can't walk? Can't see well enough to type, etc?
- Each individual should be treated according to their needs. Someone with a minimum wage part time job and a family to feed should get assistance. But then an unemployed single Mom with a family to feed and no money for daycare should also be given help. But I also believe that there should be stipulations and limitations to that help. Free daycare for the single mom and free training for both so they can find good paying jobs makes more sense than just a never ending welfare check. Free healthcare for the kids while the parents are in transition is also important.
- absolutely!! the workers should get the most help
- Yes. I believe anyone who is paying into the system and needs a helping hand should have priority over someone who is not paying into the system.
- I agree on so many different levels....I believe that people who work and TRY to make money and it still seems to be a problem to provide a good life for their family shouldn't have a problem with it....I don't believe that a single mother on well fair with 6 kids trying to say that she's a house mom should get the benefits for consecutive years because you can't be a "house mom" without a "working father".
- Gosh, I surely would love to meet one of these no-good, lazy, good-for-nothing bums getting all this government money I keep reading about from you people. Frankly - I don't believe they exist except in your propaganda sites and literature to get you all frothing at the mouth.
- People who work and still need assistance should get preferential treatment from the government. At least they are trying to help themselves. Lazy people annoy me. I would love to stay at home and do nothing, unfortunately I can't get paid for that. Elana, there is a big difference between someone who has 10 kids and someone who is disabled and unable to work. Someone who has ten kids and needs financial assistance from the government to support them should not have had that many kids to begin with. Why should we have to pay taxes that support someone to lazy to pop a birth control pill in her mouth? Or too dumb to make her partner use a condom? I would have loved to have had a bigger family, but my husband and I made the decision to stop at two kids because we knew financially we could not adequately support more.
- NO. To say, "From each according to his ability, to each according to his need," is totally communist. Never should the government take (tax) money from one person and give it to another (welfare). Just because someone is needy does not mean the government should give them money. It is not the governments job to take care of people in that way. If I want to give money to help out the needy, I'll do it. I don't need the government taking my money and doing with it as they please.
- Welfare should be eliminated, our country was meant to be capitalist, not socialist...
- yup those who dont work need to get their lazy butts up because all those hardworking people need help. those lazy people are just sitting around collecting money like the world surround them. that suxxxx.
- No, as long as the non-working are not working due to a physical disability
- The working man is showing he's responsible and doin' EVERYTHING possible. The lazy shithead not working is just that A LAZY SHITHEAD. Give the working man help any day tell the lazy shithead to go to HELL!!!!!! Most especially the illegal immigrants!!!!!
- No one should receive money or "benefits" from the government. The purpose of the government is to maintain order not rob one group of people to give to another!
