- maybe VESID ..United cerebral palsy, they can direct you to alot of programs
- Call your local Vocational Rehab. Center they should have some answers for you.
- If you have a Occupational therapist or Physiotherapist ask them, if they know of any programs that assist with adapting homes etc for the disabled. Or check with Disability of Aged support services. When my father in-law had a stroke the O T was the person who organized, what and where things had to be placed, and this included a qualified trades man who came into the home and did the renovations. All at a low cost.
- ask you doctor sometimes there needs to be a prescription or justification as to what needs done to a home for disabled people through the doctor my mom is getting a ramp and sidewalk put in and I think the county is helping but only as a result of the doctor
- These programs are at the state level. Contact your state Department of Vocational Rehabilitation-they may not be the ones who handle that, but they shoould know who does. If they don't, contact your local United Way.
- The best source for these types of services are at your local or county health services. These people can tell you about helpful programs you never even dreamed existed.
