Should the government provide financial aid?
In order to protect u.s businesses from foreign competitors, should the federal government provide financial aid that would enable troubled buisinesses to survive?

- Matter of opinion, I guess, but I would say no, the government should not protect a business from competition, domestic or foreign. There are laws which prevent 'unfair' imports which are generally aimed at protecting against government-subsidized production or imports at lower than production cost. Free markets are the fairest allocators of resources, and if a foreign competitor can produce goods and get them here, for less than you can produce them, they should get the business.
