why does the government class financial crimes more serious than bodily harm or murder?

1. I've never known an embezzler getting life without parole in a maximum security prison. Perhaps you need to research your question.

5. The same reason why some drug crimes can serve long term sentences while a pedophile gets set loose in just a few years. The system sucks I would like to to know how these idiotic laws get passed. The most important reason is the question of size and effect of a financial crime can be and the actual effect this could have on people who have little or no ability or knowledge to overcome such a crime. A common scenario that is used is through a financial crime, a hundred pensioners could be put at risk of losing heating in a blizzard. There are so many ways financial crimes could indirectly result in many actual victims while the crime is found and overcome. Add to this the standard legal precepts of not allowing a precedent to occur and making an example of severe penalties for an offender to discourage a growth in the problem.
10. because when someone commits a monetary crime then the greedy government considers that criminal to be taking their potential tax money and their money in general. its all a conspiracy with our hard earned cash. the government isnt as harsh on people who kill because they just see it as less people to help on welfare and they feel like it reduces the population to their advantage . the government wants to keep the money makers and do away with the worthless. i dont feel that its right myself but what can u do?
